Event Information

Thank you for your interest in our event. The below is a summary of the event instructions. If you have entered the race, other details will be included in your race pack.

For details on the event entry policy please click HERE

The RACE PACK , will be sent to each participant at the end of February - 24/02/2010 to 02/03/2010. If participants have not received their race pack by the 05/03/2010 they are advised to CONTACT US so that we can arrange for a reserve pack to be made available, for collection by the participant on the morning of the event.

The event is organised and hosted by Human Being Active and fully supported by our partners Carmarthenshire County Council and the Llanelli Waterside Project. The event also has support from the South West Wales Media Group.

The race will be held under UK Athletics rules and is suitable for runners and power walkers.

There will be no entries on the day.

The start and finish is adjacent to the water park on the Festival Fields in the Millennium Coastal Park (also event headquarters).

Parking will be at the Festival Fields car park (adjacent the event headquarters). Parking is free; however all parking of vehicles is at the owner’s risk.

Toilet facilities will be provided at the event. Participants should bring a change of clothing and waterproof clothing in case of poor weather.

To minimise any delays please be AT LEAST 1 HOUR EARLY.

The run will start at approximately 11:30am and will take place in a safe traffic free environment within the beautiful and scenic Millennium Coastal Path. The event will be marshalled and first aid cover will be provided by St. John Ambulance and fully qualified Paramedics.

At the start please ensure your starting position matches your pace – i.e. slower runners must position themselves towards the back of the field.

CUT OFF TIMES WILL APPLY (further information to follow).

The course will be mostly on tarmac surface with some dirt track included and is considered flat with a few mild undulations. There will be mile markers and two water stations are on route. Toilets will be available on the course. Water will also be provided at the finish.

There will be professional photographers at the event – don’t forget to give a smile when passing the camera especially at the finish (if possible).

Due to the time of the year and the fact that the run is along an exposed coastline, it is advisable to bring suitable clothing to possibly wear during the run, to safeguard against the possible conditions.

There are 4 categories for both male and female participants. Senior (below 40 years) V40, V50 and V60 for the men, senior (below 35 years) V35, V45 and V55 for the women.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category. Trophies will be awarded to the first three to finish in each of the categories. There will be event t-shirt and medals for all finishers.

The race number is supplied as part of this pack. Numbers must be worn on the front – please supply your own safety pins. The numbers are to be used in exchange for your event t-shirt after completing the event.

The timing chip is supplied as part of this race pack. Chips must be worn as per instruction supplied. If chip is not worn correctly your running time will probably be invalid.

There will be an announcement 10 minutes prior to the start of the event; when participants must report to the start line of their event. A safety de-brief will be given at this time. At the race finish participants are encouraged to leave the finish area as quickly as possible.

PLEASE ENSURE your race timing chip is returned at the end of the event. There will be collection boxes near the finish line for you to place the chip into. Those not returned will be invoiced £20

Winning race results will be provided at the prize giving ceremony soon after the main event has finished. All other race results will be posted onto the event web site.

Please assist us to protect the environment by throwing the water bottles used in the designated BIN areas which will be present after every drinks station.

There will be light refreshments available at the event to include teas, coffees, soft drinks and light snacks.

Please remember you are responsible for your own safety for the duration of the event.
